Suffolk police say a vape shop owner has died after being found injured inside his Lindenhurst business Wednesday night.
Family members say they couldn't get in contact with Kinshuk Patel, who is the owner of Dapper Smoke Shop on 40th Street.
Shortly before 10 p.m., the father of two was found injured inside the shop, according to police.
Police say Patel's wife called 911 after she went to the shop looking for him when he didn't come home. They say there are many signs of a struggle inside the store.
Patel, 33, of Babylon, was sent to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives say Patel, who was known as Mickey, was murdered but wouldn't release any more details.
Patel's family and neighbors are grief stricken. They say he was a great guy who did a lot for the community.
Suffolk police say they are conducting a murder investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
