Police say a Copiague woman was hit and killed by a Jeep in Amityville Wednesday night while trying to cross Montauk Highway.

Police say a Copiague woman was hit and killed by a Jeep in Amityville Wednesday night while trying to cross Montauk Highway.
They say Maria Zatarga-Fagan, 37, was between Beachview Street and Buchanan Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. when she was struck by the vehicle.
Zatarga-Fagan was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
News 12 is told the driver stayed at the scene. No charges have been filed.
