A pizzeria in Copiague unexpectedly became a drive-through Tuesday.Police say the vehicle's driver, 22-year-old Amityville resident Andres Collier, crashed his car into the front of Mamma's Pizza on Montauk Highway around 1 a.m. It destroyed the front of the restaurant, which had closed only an hour before. Luckily, the employees and customers had already gone home.The pizza shop's owner says Mamma's will still be open for business Tuesday. He says the storefront may cause a minor inconvenience for customers, but a glass company was already working to repair the damage.Police later charged Collier with DWI. They say before crashing into the pizzeria, he had smashed into a tree and kept driving. Collier was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, released and charged. His passenger was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
