A dating app kidnapping scheme has been busted by the police.

Law enforcement officials say it started with a 15-year-old boy arranging meet-ups with other males in New Cassel. When victims arrived, he allegedly entered their cars and threatened to stab them with a knife if they didn't drive to an ATM and take out money.

The incident took place twice - once this past Friday and once the Friday before. Both times, the victims gave the suspect money and personal items before the teenager ran off.

The teen was arrested on Sunday and is charged with kidnapping and grand larceny.
