Police are searching for a gunman who shot four men in the Longwood area early Friday morning.
According to investigators, the shots were fired during a fight that broke out between two groups in a courtyard on Simpson Street.
William Ramos and his wife heard gunfire outside their apartment. Later, they witnessed some bystanders carrying two of the victims inside their building for cover.
?When the cops came, they all came out, they were carrying them and they took them to the ambulance,? Ramos says.
Authorities say the victims, whose ages range from 20 to 35 years old, were rushed to the hospital in stable condition. Three of the men were shot in the leg, while the fourth victim was hit in the ankle.
Neighbors say their community has long been plagued by gang violence and rampant drug activity.
?It?s dangerous out there,? one resident says. ?You never know when somebody can just come out of nowhere and start throwing shots.?
Police say no arrests have been made so far.
