Police say three women have been arrested and are accused
of trying to steal from the Macy's in Roosevelt Field, and then tried to injure a detective.
Officers say it all started with two suspects, 32-year-old
Samantha Signorelli, of Freeport, and Baldwin native 25-year-old Michele Brown.
Nassau police say the duo left Macy's Sunday around 1p.m.
The two allegedly had merchandise in their hands that they didn't buy. The pair
were immediately placed under arrest.
However, police say that's when a detective noticed a
third suspect, 36-year-old Amber Johnson, of North Bellmore, waiting in
a car for Brown and Signorelli.
The
detective tried to stop Johnson's vehicle when they say she intentionally hit
him and drove off with the detective on the hood of the car.
Police say
Johnson then hit a parked Nissan, throwing the detective from the vehicle and
sped off.
Officers were able to find and arrest Johnson a short time
later.
All three
face a list of charges and will face a judge later today.
