Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two men who stole school buses from the Pierce Day Camp in Roslyn.
Authorities say the duo walked into the property in April, took the buses and damaged the gates while leaving.
The suspects then abandoned the buses and fled the scene, according to police.
In a statement, Pierce Country Day School & Camp Owner Will Pierce said, “During a weekend this April, our back gate was open while a vendor was performing seasonal maintenance. Two individuals entered the back gate and attempted to steal two mini-buses that had just been moved to allow the vendor’s equipment access into our back gate.”
“Our caretaker saw these individuals as this was happening and approached them at which time they jumped out of the vehicles and fled on foot,” Pierce continued. “We were able to get images of the suspects from a security camera which we turned over to police to hopefully find the perpetrators so they can be held accountable.”
Anyone with information is urged to call 1-800-244-TIPS.
