The Suffolk County Department of Health is advising anyone who visited two restaurants in Oakdale that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.

According to officials, those who visited Mannino's Restaurant, located at 1575 Montauk Highway, between Oct. 29 and Nov. 4, and anyone who visited The Village Idiot Irish Pub, located at 1487 Montauk Highway, between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2, may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Those who were potentially exposed should monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days after visiting the restaurant.

John Sarno, co-owner of the Village Idiot Irish Pub, showed News 12 the signs posted about wearing masks, the socially distanced tables and plastic partitions. He says three employees tested positive on Nov. 1, and they immediately sanitized the location.

Sarno says it wasn't until Nov. 9 that the Health Department told him five customers tested positive between Oct. 27 and 29 -- before his employees tested positive.

"We've done everything in our power, my question is did they?" says Sarno.

There's been no response yet from the Suffolk Health Department about Sarno's criticism that he wasn't notified sooner about customers who had tested positive.

The owner of Mannino's declined to comment.

According to the CDC, symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
