Officials: Attorney for alleged Stop & Shop shooter pursuing psychiatric defense for client

A spokesperson for the Nassau District Attorney’s Office says attorney Brian Carmody is pursuing a psychiatric defense for his client accused of a shooting in Shop & Stop.
Gabriel Wilson pleaded not guilty to opening fire inside the West Hempstead Stop & Shop that killed one manager and wounded two others. 
Wilson was a cart attendant for the store. 
If convicted, Wilson faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
