Fire
officials say one person has died following a crash on the Long Island
Expressway in North Hills.
According
to police, the incident happened near exit 36 around 2 a.m.
Police say two vehicles traveling westbound were involved in the accident.
A 39-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
All
westbound lanes were closed between exits 36 and 34
following the investigation but have since reopened.
Fire officials say speed was a factor in the crash.
