Off-duty NYPD officer dies following crash in Greenlawn on Sunday
The NYC Police Benevolent Association confirmed Izzo was off-duty at the time of the crash. The PBA said farewell to Izzo, a 111th Precinct officer, at the hospital Tuesday morning.

A 42-year-old NYPD officer from Huntington has died after succumbing to his injuries following a serious car crash on Sunday.
Suffolk police say that Michael Izzo was driving an SUV at the intersection of Broadway and Little Plains when he collided with a pick-up truck just before 3:30 a.m. Izzo was taken to South Shore University Hospital in critical condition.

The other driver, David Loughlin, of Hauppauge, was not injured. Both vehicles were impounded by police for safety checks.
