Occupants of small plane that landed on Southern State Parkway identified

Authorities say 24-year-old Anthony Q. Lanni, of the Bronx, and 42-year-old Benson Mathew, of Hicksville, were inside the single-engine Cherokee Archer that landed near Exit 33 around 11:45 a.m.

The two occupants of the small plane that landed on the Southern State Parkway Tuesday have been identified.
Authorities say 24-year-old Anthony Q. Lanni, of the Bronx, and 42-year-old Benson Mathew, of Hicksville, were inside the single-engine Cherokee Archer that landed near Exit 33 around 11:45 a.m.
The plane was heading to Republic Airport in Farmingdale when the pilot reported engine failure, according to the FAA. The two occupants were not seriously hurt.
