An NYPD officer is recovering after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in East Flatbush.

Police say the officer was directing traffic at the corner of Schenectady and Church avenues just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday when he was struck by a black sedan.

Police say the car had an orange license plate and fled the scene.

The officer was taken to the hospital, where he is expected to recover.
