NYPD: Driver ejected from car, critically injured in Coney Island crash

Police say the man was hospitalized and is being treated for head trauma.

A car crash overnight in Coney Island left a 24-year-old man in critical condition, according to police.

The incident took place on the corner of Neptune Avenue and West 25th Street around 12 a.m.

Authorities say the man in a black 2004 Lexus ran into a light pole in the median of the road and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle also overturned due to the crash.

Police say he was hospitalized and is being treated for head trauma.

The crash is being investigated by the NYPD Highway Division Squad.
