Northport High School is closed Thursday for in-person classes after school officials say a student tested positive for COVID-19.
The Northport school superintendent sent an email to parents saying the student has not been inside the building since last Thursday, Sept. 17, but the individual may have had close contact with other students over the weekend.
The superintendent said the student who tested positive for COVID-19 will not be allowed to return to school for at least 10 days and after a negative test result has been provided to the district.
