Nassau County is rolling out an on-demand, door-to-door bus service linked to its GoMobile app.
The app allows customers to book a ride within the NiceLink service area, which currently includes the area south of Hempstead Turnpike and north of Merrick Road. The service area borders the Meadowbrook State Parkway to the west and borders the Wantagh State Parkway to the east.
NICE hopes to expand the service area early next year.
The NiceLink service will run like any ride-sharing app and will cost $4.50 each way. All of the buses are handicapped-accessible.
The county also announced changes to the N40/41 line, which will run more like a subway – arriving every 10 minutes.
More information on the NiceLink service can be found at its website.
