The Nassau Inter-County Express, or NICE, transportation system is handling today its first real weekday commute. Buses have been running for days, but with the holidays over, officials should get a better idea of how the system is doing. Almost all of the routes once serviced by the Long Island Bus will remain the same, but NICE says it will be cutting the number of buses on some of the less-traveled routes.It remains unknown how many buses will be eliminated and which routes will be affected.
