Nassau County has announced it will provide aid to veterans programs feeling the impact of the pandemic.
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman announced a $10,000 grant program for VFW and American Legions.
The grant is aimed at helping the organizations that suffered financial hardships as a result of the pandemic.
"We've lost a lot of veterans halls on Long Island. Long Island has one of the highest populations in the United States of veterans, and we lost them. And once you lose them, you're never going to get them back - so we have to make sure that we don't lose anymore,’” says Blakeman.
There are over 100 veteran organizations in Nassau that will each be eligible for the grant.
