A veterinarian in Woodbury has been arrested for hoarding more than 200 animals in her home.
According to Nassau County SPCA detectives, a search warrant was executed after the SPCA received a call from a vet technician about the animals.
Detectives say the animals are living in awful conditions.
It is a large home located on Woodbury Road.
The Nassau SPCA is spending hours removing the animals from the house.
“We took animals, six dogs out of here yesterday, claws, nails were overgrown. We took pounds of fur off them. One was so sick; he’ll probably need to be euthanized,” said Gary Rogers, a detective from the Nassau County SPCA.
Detectives are not releasing the identity of the hoarder, but say she is in custody.
