Two passengers died on Thursday following a crash on the Long Island Expressway that caused their vehicle to ignite.
According to police, a pick-up truck was travelling westbound near Exit 34 in New Hyde Park when it struck the rear end of a tractor-trailer.
They say two people inside the pick-up truck were trapped inside and sustained fatal injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The names of the victims have not yet been publicly released.
