There is a renewed call to resume high school sports in Nassau County.
The call comes from Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, who wrote an open letter urging the County Section VIII committee and New York State Public High School Athletic Association to implement a solution to allow sports to safely resume.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued guidance that permits lower-risk sports to begin practice and play on Sept. 21.
However, in an emergency meeting, Nassau school superintendents voted to postpone high school sports until 2021.
Suffolk's superintendents voted to move ahead with fall sports.
