Some quick-thinking ambulance medical technicians are being hailed as heroes for helping deliver twin boys Friday in Nassau County.
Joanne Severe-Dildy says her sister, Marie, was waiting for the bus to work Friday morning and went into labor at the bus stop in Elmont. Marie wasn't due until June 17. By the time her husband arrived, she had given birth to her first baby on her own.
The AMTs arrived right after her first baby was born and helped deliver the second baby in the back of the ambulance. Newborn twins Justin and Jayden are now doing fine, along with their mother.
Severe-Dildy says her sister is incredibly thankful for the AMTs.
