The Nassau Community College Federation of Teachers is looking to overturn the dismissal of its lawsuit against the school, its board of trustees and the county.

The federation and individual faculty members filed a notice of appeal.

The teachers union fought the schools decision to eliminate 15 academic department chairpersons last summer.

They claimed it violated state education regulations and impacts the education quality on campus.

A judge dismissed the case last month, saying it failed to demonstrate anything done in violation of lawful procedure.
