Students in Freeport got a lesson in shooting for the
stars.
NASA astronaut Scott
Tingle spoke with a handful of kids from the district via Zoom on Monday.
Astronaut
Tingle also spoke with Freeport students in 2018 while aboard the International
Space Station. He offered advice to anyone looking to follow in his footsteps.
"To
be an astronaut, you can pick any degree you want in the science, technology,
engineering and math area, but the key is to pick something you really
like,"says Tingle.
Students
on the call are currently developing a nano-satellite called a Cube-Sat.
If NASA
selects Freeport's application,
the Cube-Sat will be launched
into space.
