Excessive overtime pay is the subject of today’s emergency MTA meeting.
Officials have been investigating overtime ever since it was revealed a LIRR worker made over $344,000 in overtime last year alone.
This week, MTA police have been instructed to visit railroad facilities to check timesheets.
The move has one railroad union leader crying foul. Anthony Simon says the MTA should fight crime not control overtime pay.
Simon says it's left workers afraid to accept overtime assignments.
The MTA Board meets at 4 p.m. to address excessive overtime.
