News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says it will be mostly sunny Tuesday with some haze from Canadian wildfires.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
-Some wildfire smoke the next few days. Air quality is good right now. It could become moderate from time to time on Tuesday and Wednesday. See attached images.
- Warm temperatures the next few days with highs near 80 degrees. That's a good 10 degrees above normal.
-A dry stretch through Friday with the chance for scattered showers Friday night into Saturday, a cool down will follow.
-SAM'S PICK OF THE WEEK: Thursday. Pleasant and warm with sunshine and less haze around.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and nice with lows near 58. Light winds. Sunrise: 6:51
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and warm with some haze. Highs near 79. Light southwest winds. Sunset: 6:32.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows near 62. Light southwest wind.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and warm with some haze. Highs near 79. Lows near 60.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Highs near 73. Lows near 62.
FRIDAY: Sun and clouds. Increasing clouds in the evening with the chance for showers into Friday night. Highs near 72. Lows near 62.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny with scattered showers. Cooler with highs near 69. Lows near 54.
SUNDAY: Nice with sun and clouds. Highs near 62. Lows near 48.
Wildfire smoke has been slowly moving down from Canada over the course of Saturday to Sunday and it has made the skies a little hazy around the Tri-state area. While the smoke is expected to linger around through Tuesday afternoon, it is not expected to reach the levels where advisories will be issued for poor air quality and the public health at risk.
