A Seaford man was arrested after officers caught him with 70 envelopes of heroin during a traffic stop on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Officers say they spotted Thomas Coyle, 47, riding an e-bike along a sidewalk near Merrick Road and initiated the traffic stop around 3:15 p.m.

During the investigation, they discovered a white powdery substance in the envelopes and took him into custody.

The charges against him include reckless uncontrolled operation of a bicycle and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police say Coyle was arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
