Family, fellow Scouts and friends of Andrew McMorris
gathered in Baiting Hollow Saturday morning to dedicate a new cabin named in
his honor.
The Adirondack-style lodge is located at the Baiting Hollow
Scout camp. It is designed to accommodate 40 Scouts and is outfitted with a
kitchen, bathrooms, showers and a gathering room.
Several personal items of Andrew's are cemented into the
foundation, including his guitar pick, aviator sunglasses, a paint brush and a
merit badge.
Andrew’s mother Alisa said in November that the lodge
captured her son’s spirit and energy. It was built with the help of donations raised during
a hike in November which saw hundreds of people participate.
"I'm sure he's smiling from above in heaven right now seeing this building and knowing that it will serve his fellow scouts for generations to come," said John McMorris, Andrew's father.
