A woman accused of murdering her boyfriend in Jamesport has been on the run for over a year, and Suffolk County police are now asking for the public’s help to bring her to justice.
According to authorities, the suspect, known to the victim as Majorie Quarrie, allegedly stabbed 36-year-old Conrad Gowan in the neck in March 2024. Gowan, originally from Jamaica, was living on Long Island and working as a home health aide. He was found dead in his apartment on the property of a Jamesport nursery.
“My nephew was a good person, he never hurt anyone,” said Debbie Thompson, Gowan’s aunt, over the phone. “His dream was to come to America for the American dream and become a registered nurse.”
Detective Lt. Kevin Beyrer, of the Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Squad, said Quarrie had learned Gowan was romantically involved with someone else. She allegedly showed up at his apartment, was turned away, and later went back where the stabbing occurred.
Police say the woman is known to use multiple aliases, including Nicola Watson, and frequently changes her appearance. She is believed to be living off the grid, using cash for rent and not carrying a phone, making her difficult to track.
Neighbors in the usually quiet Herricks Lane area say the killing shocked the community.
“Sad, hate to see anybody get killed,” one local resident told News 12.
A warrant is out for Quarrie’s arrest. She is facing a second-degree murder charge.
Detectives believe she may still be working as a home health aide and may have ties to Queens and an entertainment company called “Pure Connections.”
