A Bronx man is seeking answers after he says a street sweeper sucked up and killed one of his dogs during a walk Thursday.
"I was trying to get my two dogs into my car," says the dog's owner, Robert Machin. "I opened the door to put them in and the truck that just left came speeding by and just swallowed my dog up into the bushes."
Witnesses hollered for the city sanitation vehicle to stop, but they say it kept going.
"He keeps going all the way to the next light, which is four blocks away, and everyone was running after him," says witness Efrain Hernandez. "If he's going slow, like he said he was going, then why can't we catch him?"
The Department of Sanitation says it will investigate the incident.
