A man is accused of pointing a gun at another driver during a road rage incident in Melville on Thursday afternoon.
Gary Donnelly, 45, of Huntington, was driving a white 2021 Ford Transit 250 van with ladders on top when he started erratically maneuvering his vehicle, Suffolk police say.
Detectives tell News 12 Donnelly was engaging in road rage with a 26-year-old Freeport man who was black 2018 Dodge Durango.
The two vehicles were travelling on Express Drive South, near Route 110, eventually continuing southbound on Route 110 before stopping near Spagnoli Road around 2 p.m.
When the driver of the Durango got out of his vehicle and approached the Ford, Donnelly drew a handgun and pointed it at the victim.
Several hours later, Second Squad detectives located the man at his home and recovered a loaded firearm.

Donnelly will be charged with menacing, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon when he is arraigned on Friday.
