Suffolk DA: Man carved personal 'hangout' spot in woods of Nesconset park

The Suffolk district attorney says Terence Wolffe went to the park to excavate a personal “hangout” spot.

A Mastic man is facing charges for illegal deforestation of a Suffolk County park, authorities say.
The Suffolk district attorney says Terence Wolffe would go to Walter S. Commerdinger Jr. County Park in Nesconset and travel to an off-trail area to clear and excavate a personal “hangout” spot in the woods.
News 12 has been told Wolffe used machetes, axes, and shovels to chop down trees and remove vegetation.
Wolffe is facing criminal mischief charges, as well as multiple environmental conservation law violations.
