Man accused of portraying homeland security agent

Police say they saw an Audi with emergency lights on the windshield traveling on the shoulder of the Sagtikos Parkway.

Police say one person has been arrested for impersonating a homeland security agent.
The incident happened in Brentwood along the LIE near the Sagtikos Parkway Tuesday afternoon.  
Police say they saw an Audi with emergency lights on the windshield traveling on the shoulder of the eastbound HOV lane.
After stopping the car, officers say the driver portrayed himself as a homeland security agent.
Police say the man, identified as Fernando Garnecho, of Queens, had numerous law enforcement type items in the car, as well as a black replica handgun.
