One Long Island-based company manufactures custom bullet-proof windows and doors to prevent ballistic threats. The product is installed in local school districts and worldwide.
Joseph Haynes has been in the construction industry all his life. He is the CEO of Action Bullet Resistant in West Islip.
"Our material has been specifically designed to stop a forceful attack with handguns and rifles," said Joseph.
If someone pulls the trigger, Action Bullet's glass captures the bullet so it does not break through.
A former police officer founded the business 46 years ago. The original plan was to improve gas station safety. "It started to develop and install in small gas stations, in 7-Elevens around the local area, and since then, we've grown," said Joseph.
The business works closely with government agencies, places of worship, and school districts worldwide.
Joseph says it's an honor to carry the company. "It is satisfying, but what is more satisfying is that I have a solution to a real problem in this country right now, and knowing that the product we are selling will help people."
