Muslims across Long Island and around the world celebrated the first day of Eid al-Adha Tuesday.
The three-day celebration is considered one of the holiest times of the year for Muslims.
Many gathered at mosques for morning prayers, followed by festive meals at home.
The holiday marks the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia known as the Hajj.
