It’s been an agonizing week for family and friends of Long Islander Omer Neutra, who's believed to have been kidnapped by Hamas.
The 21-year-old was in Israel serving in the nation’s military and his family hasn’t heard from him in a week.
Anaam Wafa works for the family’s Long Island-based company and is a friend of Neutra, whom he described as “lively,” “vivacious” and “a great leader.”
Neutra’s parents spoke with President Joe Biden on Friday. Wafa said while this has taken a heavy toll on Orna and Ronen Neutra, of Plainview, “they’re not ones to give up.”
He said they’re doing everything in their power to make sure that their son returns home safe and sound.
Neutra’s mom told CNN that her son was born just after the 9/11 attacks. His 22nd birthday is Saturday.
