A Rocky Point firefighter is accused of having sex with an underage girl he met online, and police are looking for any other possible victims.

Thomas Hinrichs, 33, of Sound Beach, who works for the Long Island Rail Road and is a member of the Rock Point Fire Department, was charged with rape and criminal sex act.

Suffolk police say he had sex with an underage girl he met on social media earlier this year.

Hinrichs was arrested Thursday at his home on Babylon Drive.

The Rocky Point Fire Department says he was a member for less than three months and has been suspended until the next Board of Fire Commissioner’s meeting. They say nothing came up in his police background check.

A spokesperson for the LIRR says Hinrichs was taken out of service.

Hinrichs’ bail was set at $25,000 Friday. Detectives are asking anyone who believes they may be a victim to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
