Student leaders from colleges across Long Island rallied Friday at Stony Brook University for Suicide Awareness and Prevention.
It is part of an effort from a group called "One More Option."
The coalition is made up of members from seven student governments of Long Island colleges and universities.
They want a state bill called the "Student Suicide Prevention Act" to include college students.
The bill would require districts to adopt plans that address student suicide prevention.
The bill that is currently written would only apply to students in seventh through 12th grade.
