The Jones Beach vaccination site is open Friday, but its status was a source of confusion Thursday due to conflicting information from the state's vaccine hotline.
Cars were lined up as usual at the state-run site Friday afternoon, but it wasn't quite that site Thursday during the snowstorm. People did come out, but some with appointments didn't show up after being told the site closed early.
News 12 called the hotline Thursday and was told the site had closed just before 11 a.m. But that turned out to not be true, with appointments still being fulfilled through 7 p.m.
That confusion has frustrated dozens of Long Island residents who say they missed their appointments because they believed they had been postponed.
Those who missed their spot for the shot say they're still trying to get answers.
A state spokesperson says those who missed their appointment can call the hotline at 1-833-NYS-VAX and a representative will work on a solution to reschedule within the next few days.
However, viewers tell News 12 when they called the hotline, they were told they could not get an appointment for a few weeks.
Two people who spoke to News 12 who had appointments Thursday but didn't go say they ended up driving to Jones Beach with their information Friday, and were both allowed to get the shot.
