Islip District Court Judge, 5th District

Bloom, 58, of West Islip is running on the Democrat Party line. Since 2010, she has been the support magistrate in the Nassau County Family Court. From 2005 to 2010, Bloom was a court attorney in the Nassau County Family Court. From 2002 to 2005, she was a law clerk to several Nassau County Supreme Court judges, including Justice Ira J. Raab, Justice Michele M. Woodard and Judge Joel K. Asarch. She received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Albany and her law degree from Touro College’s Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. She was admitted to the New York and Massachusetts state bars in 2002. Since 2008, she’s been a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and the Nassau County Law Secretaries and Court Attorneys Association. She also has been on the board of directors of the Friends of Connetquot Inc. since 2011.

Graf, 59, of Holbrook, is running on the Republican, Conservative, Independence, Green, Women’s Equality and Reform party lines. He has been a member of the New York Assembly in the 5th District since 2010. Graf has had a private law practice since 2007 and worked for the Legal Aid Society from 2007 to 2010. Previously, he taught in an alternative educational program for children. Graf was a two-term supervisor in the upstate town of Brighton from 1991 to 1995. He was an accounts manager for Wells Fargo from 1990 to 1991. Graf was a police officer with the NYPD from 1980 to 1989. Graf enlisted in the Navy in 1976 and rose to the rank of petty officer third class, receiving an honorable discharge in 1980. He received a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and a law degree from Touro Law School. He was admitted to the bar in New York in 2007 and is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.

Malone, 56, of Sayville, is running on the Democratic, Republican, Conservative, Green, Independence, Women’s Equality and Reform party lines. He has been a law clerk for State Supreme Court Justice William Condon since 2014. Previously, he was a Town of Southampton councilman from 2010 to 2014. He was a Suffolk County senior deputy county clerk from 2008 to 2014. He worked for the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society as a public defender from 2007 to 2008. He was the Southampton Town Conservative Party chairman from 2008 to 2009. He was a justice court clerk in Port Jefferson Village under Justices John Riley and Peter J. Graham from 2000 to 2005. He was a bond trader in Manhattan for Citicorp from 1985 to 1995. He received a bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University and a law degree from Touro Law Center. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2007. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and the Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association.
