A state highway maintenance worker and his family welcomed their new baby into the world right in the middle of last month’s blizzard!

John, a NYS DOT highway maintenance supervisor, was needed in two places at once during the historic storm -- helping keep Long Island motorists safe, and also at the hospital.

Thanks to his fellow DOT colleagues, John was able to be with his wife Aimee, as their daughter Colette made her grand entrance.

“Keeping New York safe is always the mission. Supporting each other is how we make it happen,” the DOT says.

Adding, “Welcome to the world, Colette. Your NYSDOT family already had your back.”
