A Hicksville teenager was arrested Wednesday after allegedly following UPS trucks and stealing packages.
Police say Martin Gonzales, 18, was taking unattended packages off porches in Hicksville. He is facing three petit larceny charges.
Police say they are still looking for his alleged accomplice.
Detective Lt. Richard LeBrun called the theft a "seasonal crime."
Authorities recommend tracking packages and having a neighbor retrieve them once it's delivered. They also recommend a security camera or motion lights.
Customers can also have packages held at the post office or other safe locations.
