The Health Department says turnout was so low over the weekend at swine flu vaccination clinics that the vaccines will be made available to more people.

Instead of restricting the vaccine distribution to students, the weekend clinics will now be open to pregnant women, people ages 4 to 24, those in contact with newborn babies and people ages 25 to 64 with underlying health conditions.

Health officials say only a few hundred people attended the weekend clinics, even though there are enough vaccines for about 500 people to receive them each hour.

The vaccines will be offered at a different location each weekend, including Roberto Clemente High School, J.H.S. Mosholu Parkway School, Christopher Columbus High School and I.S. 127.
