GUIDE: Islanders sweep Penguins, prepare for Eastern Conference semis

The Islanders and the Penguins are meeting again in first round of the NHL playoffs. For the first time in years, the Islanders have home-ice advantage at Nassau Coliseum.

The Islanders stopped Sidney Crosby and the Penguins in their tracks, sweeping them out of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Now they await their opponent for the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

2019 head-to-head record: The Islanders and Penguins split the regular season series 2-2.  The Islanders were 4-0 in the playoff series.                                  
All-time wins vs. opp.: The Islanders are 113-104-17 against Pittsburgh. The teams have also tied 22 times.
2018-19 records: The Islanders notched home-ice advantage with a 48-27-7 record (103 points), while Pittsburgh went 44-26-12 (100 points).               
Goals for: The Penguins had the NHL's 6th-best offense, scoring 273 goals. The Isles posted 228 goals, good for 21st in the league.                                       
Goals against: Barry Trotz's defense was the NHL's best, only allowing 196 goals. The Penguins let up 241 goals, 14th in the league.      
Leading scorer: Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby was the league's 6th-best point scorer, posting 100 on 35 goals and 65 assists. The Islanders were led by Mat Barzal, who put up 62 points on 18 goals and 44 assists. 
Starting goalie: Robin Lehner had the NHL's third lowest goals allowed average at 2.13. His fellow net-minder Thomas Greiss came in right behind him in 4th with a 2.28 GAA. Pittsburgh's Matt Murray posted 29 wins and a 2.69 GAA.
Cup titles: The Penguins have won five Stanley Cup titles, the last of which came in 2017. The Islanders are still on their drive for five since their last title in 1983.
