Nassau police say two men scammed a 76-year-old woman out of $60,000 on Thursday.
Detectives say the woman received a text message stating that possible fraudulent transactions were occurring on her Apple Pay account and that it needed to be resolved by contacting the phone number listed in the message.
Police say she complied and between Aug. 25 and Aug. 27 she met with the two men separately in Willingston Park and Mineola and gave each roughly $30,000.
One of the men is described as a white male, approximately 5’6’’ tall, with a stocky build, according to police. The other man is described as an Asian male, approximately 5’6’’ tall and was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt and possibly wearing glasses.
Police are asking anyone with information on the suspects' whereabouts to contact them.
