Republican gubernatorial candidate Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno called out her Democratic opponent Thursday, accusing him of making expensive campaign promises.

“He’s coming for your wallet,” Guadagno said of candidate Phil Murphy.

Guadagno says that Murphy’s plans will drive up taxes for the middle class if he is elected.

“People understand in New Jersey that there's really only one issue and that issue is their pocketbook,” Guadagno said.

Murphy has received endorsements from two top Democrats: former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden.

Guadagno has not made any appearances with top Republicans. Political analyst Ashley Koning, of the Eagleton Institute of Politics, says that Guadagno is instead using other strategies to motivate supporters.

“The lieutenant governor has been making a hard right turn in what she's been saying and doing in the most recent days and weeks to…garner power and drum up support from her base instead of having those celebrity, superstar politicians coming toward her side,” Koning says.

Guadagno and Murphy clashed at their second debate Wednesday evening.

New Jersey’s gubernatorial election will be Nov. 7.
