Odor coming from a bad backup battery caused officials to evacuate a Glen Rock school.

Glen Rock police say that officers responded to Academy of Our Lady School on Rodney Street around 8:30 a.m. Monday for reports of an odor of sulfuric accident coming from the media center of the school.

Officials evacuated the school as a precaution and the fire department responded to the scene. It was found that a bad battery backup was the source of the odor.

The fire department ventilated the building and students were allowed back inside the school. There were no reports of the odor causing anyone to fall sick.
