Glen Cove school officials unveiled new remote nurse's offices at Landing Elementary Tuesday.
Officials say the "nurse pods" create a safe, hygienic space to isolate students with COVID-19 symptoms. Each pod comes with two isolation rooms, giving schools more room for instruction.
"As a result, our students are able to come back to our buildings in person if their parents choose to be able to participate in in-person learning," says Glen Cove School Superintendent Dr. Maria Rianna.
Two other pods have been installed at Connolly and Gribbin elementary schools, using $250,000 in state grants.
