A 15-year-old who police say lunged at two police officers with a knife is now facing attempted murder charges.
Police say the incident happened in the backyard of a home on Eddy Road in Roosevelt Wednesday.
"He's lunging at my officer with a knife over his head, the officer pushes him out of the way and they both fall back," says Commissioner Patrick Ryder. "The second officer jumped on top and repeated the response, 'Drop the knife,' and he then swings around and that's when he sliced my officer's middle finger."
Ryder says the officers were able to use a Taser to subdue the Freeport teen.
Ryder says the officers were called to the area after a couple, who didn't know the teen, called 911 when he apparently hurled a brick at their car and front door.
