A Freeport man is facing multiple violations in connection with a concealed gambling room that police uncovered during a Quality‑of‑Life Initiative on Sunday in Uniondale.

During the inspection at G&G Deli and Grocery at 524 Jerusalem Ave., officers discovered a hidden room accessed by a remote magnetic latch.

Inside, they found six electronic gambling machines and $6,096 in cash, all of which were seized.

Jose Amaya Barquero, 51, of Freeport, was issued appearance tickets for violations of New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Law and Town of Hempstead ordinance.

He is scheduled to appear in First District Court on April 6, 2026.
